Dr. Said Masoud Ali Kashoob

Dr Said Kashoob is the QA Chairman of the college involving major Quality Assurance activities. He sits as the Chairman of various committees such as Quality Assurance, Curriculum Review and Development, and Benchmarking. He finished his PHD in Computer Engineering and has been with QA for four years .Dr Said led the college during the Ministry of Manpower’s Strategic Planning Workshop in2013 and OAAA discussion in Institutional Standards in October 2013.

Prof. P Mani joseph

Prof. Joseph Mani is the Asst. Dean for Academic Affairs at Modern College of Business and Science (MCBS), Oman. Prior to joining MCBS in 2004, he had served as the Dean of Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering at Sharjah College, UAE. Joseph received his PhD degree from Cochin University of Science and Technology, India in the field of Communication Technology. He holds prestigious international IT certification such as CISA, CISM, SAP HCM, RHCE etc.

Joseph is an external reviewer of OAAA and was the chair of quality audit panel of IBRA College of Technology. Also he was member of quality audit panel of Buraimi University College and Ibra College of Technology. Joseph was a member of OAC working group for Oman Academic Standards for General Foundation program which was responsible for setting the standards of foundation programs.  He was a member of program Interim review committee to review College of Applied Sciences IT programs along with members from NWTEC and OAC. He was the institutional effectiveness committee chair of Sharjah College that have sought accreditation from UAE Accreditation Commissions (CAC).

Joseph was actively involved in the development of international undergraduate and associate degree Information Technology (IT) curriculum as a member of both ACM International IT Curriculum Committee and ACM International IT Education Committee. .He is an active member of various professional societies including IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Association), ISACA (Information System Audit and Control Association, New York) and ACM.

Prof. Taki Al Abduwani

Prof. Taki’s first degree was from the North East Wales Institute of Higher Education, UK. He obtained a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (Finance) from University of Lincolnshire, UK in 1998. In 2009, he was awarded the PhD Degree in Education from University of Reading, UK. His thesis was on assessing the role of the soft component of human capital theory and explains the differences in soft skill endowment in Oman. Prof. Taki has been the Dean of Gulf College since 2004. He has had held several significant posts, including Managing Director for the first privatized higher educational institution in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Prior to this, he worked in several government organizations in various designations such as Director of Human Resources, Director of Training, and Director of Follow-up and Administrative Regulations.

Ms. Hannah Manogaran

Ms. Hannah Manogaran is a Mechanical Engineering graduate with Masters in Business Administration. She is currently working as Quality Controller in Waljat College of Applied Sciences. She has participated in a number of workshops and conferences in Quality Assurance in the field of education.

Her major work areas include policy development, implementation of quality systems and other quality assurance related activities. She has also played an active role in the validation of College courses, thereby gaining considerable experience in the Quality Assurance systems.

Dr. Yaseen Al Lawati

Dr Yaseen graduated from the University of Strathclyde, Scotland, Uk with a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in 1995. He worked as an Assistant Professor in Microbiology, Department of Microbiology and Immunology in the College of Medicine and Health Sciences at Sultan Qaboos University from 1995-2009. From 2000-2004, he held the position of Assistant Dean, Pre-clinical Affairs (Academic Affairs) in the College of Medicine and Health Sciences at Sultan Qaboos University and also supervised student’s activities in the College of Medicine for ten years. Currently, he is an Associate Dean of Academic Affairs at Oman Medical College. At OMC, he is chairing the Curriculum Committee; he gives workshops on Methods of Advising to the faculty and supervises student academic and extracurricular activities. In the previous years, he has attended various activities such as a Medical Education Workshop 2010 in West Virginia University USA, “Second Workshop for Strategic Planning for University and Higher Education in Oman”, Education & Training for Development, Oman Research Council, SQU, 2007, “The Certificate Course in Health Professions Education” at the College of Medicine King Saud University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia (2002). His experience throughout the years has given me a backbone on Quality Assurance issues.

Ms. Amal Al Amri

Ms Amal has Masters in Statistics from the Wollongong University in Australia. She has six years of teaching experience in the department of Mathematics and Applied Sciences. She is in charge of all surveys conducted in MECIT. Amal is a member of the board of directors of Omani Society for Educational Technology (OSET). She was a member of the organizing committee for two international conferences held by OSET in Oman. She has also been delivering lectures/workshops on statistical topics and statistical software packages. She was involved in several statistical projects for some ministries in Oman during her study at SQU.

Dr. Yasmin Shanan Al-Bulushi

Assistant Dean – Academic Support at CBFS. She got her PhD from Leeds University, UK. Over the past 17 years she has taught varied levels of General English, TOFEL & IELTS. She has also been involved in conducting training courses on presentation skills, business communication and leadership & emotional intelligence. She has done research in the fields of ESP & ELT. She has participated in many national and international conferences, training programs and workshops. She is a Certified Trainer, coach and assessor for Emotional Intelligence by Six Seconds, USA.

Ms. Fakhriya Al Habsi

Quality Assurance Officer, Oman Academic Accreditation Authority

Ms. Fakhriya Al Habsi has been working for the OAAA (formerly the Oman Accreditation Council (OAC)) as a Coordination & Follow-up Officer then a Quality Assurance Officer since June 2005.

Fakhriya obtained her Masters in Educational Administration from the University of New England, Australia in April 2011. She was one of the top graduates in Management from Sultan Qaboos University’s College of Commerce & Economics, completing her BSc (Mgmt) in 2003. During her time at SQU she also participated actively in the Management Society and was Editor of Management Magazine. Prior to joining the OAAA, Fakhriya contributed in a World Bank funded project within the Ministry of National Economy on ‘The Investment Environment in Oman’.

Fakhriya’s responsibilities within the OAAA have included making presentations on the activities of the Omani higher education sector to national and international audiences. In 2006, she was part of the team that made an award-winning presentation to an international conference in Australia on Oman’s proposed new system of quality assurance.

Beside her duties in the OAAA, Fakhriya has provided the administrative support to the Oman Quality Network in Higher Education (OQNHE) – a national, independent, not-for-profit network of Omani Higher Education Institutions focused on quality enhancement in higher education. The OQNHE membership includes over 50 different institutions from all over the Sultanate.
